Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays... food, family & reflecting on the blessings the Lord has granted us. May we always be mindful of His hand in our lives.

Mackenzie made the headband, necklace & vest in her kindergarten class.

Fall leaves

The best thing about raking leaves.... jumping in!

Scott, age 10

Caroline, age 8

Mackenzie, age 5 1/2

Trick-or-Treat!

Smurfette: Mackenzie made a picture-perfect Smurfette this Halloween.

Caroline was a cute black cat this year. She has a Smurf on her collar as she's Azrielle, the sneaky cat on the Smurfs.

The kids were SMURFY this year & have had fun dressing up, running around chasing each other, trying to stuff Smurfette into a bag. The Smurfs DVD they got last Christmas was a big hit. I LOVED this cartoon as a child, so wanted to bring back the old school cartoons for my children to enjoy too! Scott dressed up as Gargamelle & had fun with his black bag that he filled with stuffed Smurfs. I love that the kids still have great imaginations & enjoy playing together so much. Good times!

Halloween Fun

The kids really enjoyed making chocolate Halloween suckers this fall:
green withes, oranges pumpkins, purple vampires & castles, white ghosts & skulls. They had even more fun delivering them to neighbors. Yummy!

Eric helped the kids carve a spooky ghost while I was at a baby shower the other night. Great job! Notice it was too cold for Mackenzie to step on the porch for the picture so she's peeking out the window.

Halloween Carnival: The kids had a blast at the Upward Carnival this weekend: bouncy houses, slides & especially the inflatable challenge course where they could race each other while climbing walls, running over hurdles, etc. Scott & Caroline also battled each other while standing in a wrestling ring, on pedastools, holding these huge batons trying to push each other off the pedastool. It was crazy fun & I think Eric really wants to rent one of those for his next birthday. It was really cool, though I don't think I'd want anyone knocking me around with that huge baton. Anyhow, there were tons of games & candy, face painting & balloon tie-ing, cotton candy & popcorn. Good times!

After Football & cheerleading games and a few hours at the carnival, most of us were pooped & ready to head home, but, Mackenzie was still up for a hayride, so we squeeze in one last activity before heading out. She loves hayrides!

Track Out

The best thing about track out is having some down time as a family. The kids love crafts & work well together when the paint or play-doh is out. Happy days!
